A bit more about me...
I spent most of my life traveling and moving, and have developed a passionate interest for writing, communications, photography, and multicultural issues over the years. My father was in the Air Force and my mother is German - some of the places we lived and traveled to include Australia, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, England, Germany, Holland, Italy, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Texas. I discovered my love of writing at East Carolina University, where I studied creative writing and ethnic studies as an undergraduate and worked as a contributing writer for the East Carolinian newspaper, while publishing creative works in various literary magazines.
As a graduate student, I studied International Studies, with an interdisciplinary focus on economics, anthropology, multicultural literature, and environmental issues. An experience I will never forget is my study abroad to Belize where I co-taught World Literature at the University College of Belize and worked at the Image Factory Art Foundation (which was run by the Prime Minister's son) helping to curate art shows and assist in publishing the country's very first anthology of Belizean women writers.
